About Cory Johnston
Cory Johnston is a dad, boyfriend, and oilfield worker who has a passion for learning and working towards a better world. While he has very little in the way of formal education, he spent much of his life reading everything he could get his hands on as well as listening to lectures, podcasts, and audiobooks. An avid comic book nerd, Cory has always thought that the world required work in order to be truly just and as a result tries to affect change that will make that happen in a number of ways. Podcasting is a hobby that has helped that endeavor as well as a way to have fun and maintain friendships while meeting new people.

In this episode of the Skeptic Studio Cory, Sarah, Rene, and Dave talk to Kavin Senapathy. Kavin is very well known in skeptical circles for her blogs and her book The Fear Babe: Shattering Vani Hari’s Glass House. Kavin and the crew talk about the state of skepticism and some recent events that make it seem like some parts of the skeptic movement are a little out of touch.
In this episode of The Skeptic Studio Cory talked to Dr. Edwin Hodge from the University of Victoria in British Colombia. They discussed various extremist groups, some links between ways they approach the world, and some of the history behind them. Here is a link to the last time Cory talked to Dr. Hodge https://www.brainstormblog.net/the-hardcore-skeptic-examines/2017/5/21/an-academic-talks-social-justice […]
“I wanted to write a rant on the far right and their rise to prominence, the utter fear for marginalized people that this fills me with, and the need for action of some kind to stop them from carrying out even more harmful acts or gaining any more power but I keep getting caught up in the details.”
In this episode of Skeptic Voices I talked to Michael Smith from the Poorly Summarized podcast. He was on The Skeptic Studio in the past and I thought it would a lot of fun to talk to him again. He’s a good guy and we had a great chat about a lot of things.
In this episode of Shift To Reason Radio Cory, Lisa, Rene, and Dave talk about a bunch of stuff but most importantly they talk about the day that pot became legal and some of the issues that brought up.
