    In my case I have a friend who is transgender who started out agnostic and then went head first into Reform Judaism. She won’t eat pork and I asked, was it a requirement of the religion or just a preference. She didn’t like that.

    Oh and recently she came to the ex-wife’s house and there was pulled pork. She ate the pork – I asked wasn’t that not kosher – and she explained there’s more a duty not to starve. Yeah – nice escape clause.
