About Us.

What is Reason Revolution? Well, it’s not a revolution of force. It’s a revolution of ideas. In my estimation, the most powerful revolution a person can have is within one’s own mind. Throwing off the shackles of superstition, religion, and tradition in favor of evidence, logical argument and reason is the best path towards a better life and a better world.

Reason is what allowed us to build the tallest buildings, to eradicate diseases, to ameliorate vast amounts of suffering and poverty around the world. Reason allowed us to map the cosmos, from the largest of stars, nebulas, and galaxies to the smallest in quantum physics. In short, reason is the most important tool that humanity has in its arsenal of abilities.

With that in mind, we launched Reason Revolution in the summer of 2017. It is a media website that covers politics, history, and philosophy from the secular humanist perspective. Here you will find long-form articles, lectures, and videos on these topics.

Additionally, founder Justin Clark and co-founder Tylor Lovins will continue their dialogue on Secular Humanism. In these series of longer essays, they will share their perspectives on the future of Secular Humanism as a philosophy of life that can match the appeal of religion.

Secular Humanism, broadly defined, advocates for a society based on rationality, scientific and intellectual progress, ethical action, and liberal democracy. Our goal with Reason Revolution is to articulate and advocate for Secular Humanism’s broader social and moral benefits. Asking tough questions and engaging in important conversations will help us to refine and strengthen our concept of Secular Humanism and its future.

Dedicating ourselves to the success and further implementation of Secular Humanism in our broader culture is the goal of Reason Revolution. In a sense, we’re revolting against the dark, superstitious past and embracing a bright, reason-based future. We hope you will join us in this endeavor.
